About Our Group
Our Thursday night learning sessions are dedicated in memory of Mark "Moshe" Ramer. In 1995, Mark recruited a group of participants and began hosting weekly classes in his home, creating a warm and inviting environment complete with a spread of fruit, cakes and tea. This Shiur was his passion, and he thoroughly enjoyed the learning and camaraderie that was engendered among its many members.
Mark fulfilled the adage of our sages that said;
אוֹהֵב שָׁלוֹם וְרוֹדֵף שָׁלוֹם, אוֹהֵב אֶת הַבְּרִיּוֹת וּמְקָרְבָן לַתּוֹרָה
To truly live a purposeful and accomplished life, one must aggressively pursue peaceful solutions, genuinely love and respect all people, and always endeavor to encourage friends and neighbors to study the wisdom of our Torah.
These words capture the essence, life principles, and passion that were the hallmarks of Mark Ramer. He had an unrelenting desire to share the possibility to learn and study the Torah with his community. This archive will ensure that the lessons he instilled in us of community, giving, and the love for studying Torah will continue to live on.
